Post-harvest loss (PHL) remains a threat to food and nutrition security and sustainable livelihoods in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). It is derailing the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals such as zero hunger (SDG 2) and responsible consumption and production (SDG 12). Practices and technologies however; access and Uptake of this technologies is limited.
This is attributed to affordability and access to critical infrastructure such as electricity among issues among others. Therefore, to catalyze the uptake of these technologies, an understanding of the demand and supply of the products, and appropriate business models for uptake and space of the products are necessary. This brief note documents the findings of market analysis of solar dyer technology, which was commissioned by a consortium of African Center for technology studies ACTS, UNEP and KIRDI.
